Bryce... compatability mode does not solve this problem
although it does solve the help menu error problem. It
will be necessary to run this program in Windows 98
compatablility mode to solve that problem.
I think I have found another work-a-round
for this problem.
There is a pop-up that runs when Photoshop elements start
that ask to change the scratch disk settings to improve
performance.
Every time I have installed Photoshop Elements I have
changed the scratch dist to either C: or D: from startup
disk.
this is under: Edit \ Preference \ Plug-ins scratch
disks.
Every time I include another drive letter for a drive
partiction in NTFS I get a drive locked Error.
The setting that work are : First: startup and second:
Third: and Fourth: NONE.
The settings that have also worked are First: c: and the
rest NONE.
Another point. I am using the particition install that
come with the OEM Disk Windows XP Pro. I let Windows XP
particition and format the new hard drives.
The drive that I am test now has been first partiction by
another OS Systems. The drive in question has be
particition by Windows 2000 Pro and wiped,, partiction by
linux and wiped, than finally particition by Windows XP.
All of my other installions where Photoshop Elements has
failed were install on a new harddrive never particitioned
before until I particitioned it and install Windows XP Pro
with the OEM Disk.
