I don't have a quick fix for your issue with Properties, although I think I
have seen it posted before--is there a REPAIR choice, when you right-click??
However, I think the tech support is all wet in this case. The XP firewall
doesn't do anything with outbound traffic except optionally log it. So, I
doubt that is your issue, unless this is an unusual sort of connection which
involves an incoming connection from a machine with which you don't already
have an outbound connection--this is not terribly likely,
So--what sort of Internet connection is this? Is it a DSL connection, using
PPPoE (where you need to "sign on" giving a username/password pair??)
