As you know this is one of the many security features
that irked many windows users since the BETA-testing days
which is, XP uses around ten hardware components to
identify the configuration of your PC and determine
whether it's the same machine(in an effort to curb
license violations). So that means hard times for regular
upgraders. Anyway, to address your problem, I suspect
that:
i)your cd is not bootable.
ii)you have not configured your cd-rom drive as a
bootable device on your BIOS settings(not so likely since
it's probably the default on your new MoBo).
iii)your cd simply has impurities.
You don't need a new key if the CD and PC are alright but
you will need to reregister both products if you get them
up and running.Sorry I couldn't help.
