My printer (hp officejet d145) has a file in the startup
directory that establishes a connection between printer
and pc. As soon as I login under the Guest Account, this
file hangs, i.e. I am not able to print from the guest
account. It works on all other accounts (also limited
accounts). I know that the guest account doesn't run all
programmes due to limited user rights.

I have the latest printer driver for XP. As soon as I
give the Guest Account Admin rights, it works (but with
no other rights, e.g. User or Poweruser). Also, I tried
giving the Guest Account admin rights and reinstalling
the software from that account, thereafter taking away
the admin right, but it doesn't work. Strangely, I can
create any new account with limited rights (guest or user
rights) and it works. I've tried right clicking and "run
as" with admin rights, doesn't work. In full desperation,
also tried XP system repair...

I would be grateful for any help.

Regards,

Marcel
