The problem isn't so much the operating system but rather that many games
assume they are being run as "admin". After all many of them were designed
for Windows 98/ME where everyone was "admin".
Theres no easy answer I'm afraid. You can spend ages fiddling with
permissions on the disk and the registry for the games and get most of them
running from limited accounts but this is too time consuming to be practical
for most people. I expect that over time as games are written with XP in
mind the situation will improve.
