I don't really understand if you are actually asking a question or just
griping, but there seems no need for the angry tone.
The page at http://www.adobe.com/products/XPinstallnotes.html which you
appear to have read DOES say that you have to get used to the idea of
installing as Administrator, and the site also indicates it's not
"Designed for Windows XP" when you review the product list.
So MacroMedia has decided to modify its software to allow Power Users to
install ... that was their decision, and Adobe has currently gone
another way. So log in as administrator to install the Reader.
A mountain out of a molehill, it seems. As for what "everyone" tells
you, well, obviously you didn't ask Adobe, even though it's their
product, nor apparently did you try posting to one of their user forums.
