Hello, when I used Win2k I created a logical drive to store my personal
files, and I changed the permissions so that only I can access it and no
other user.

I had a problem with Win2k, at start-up it would just get to the screen with
the Win2k Pro logo, the bar at the buttom would get filled only to half, and
then it just hanged.

I tried accessing through safe mode, tried repairing with installation cd,
tried accessing with command line, but nothing worked - as soon as it
started loading it would hang.

So I decided to upgrade to WinXP and see if I can recover my files from
there.

I booted from CDROM, upgraded to WinXP Pro, I created the same exact user
accounts as I had with Win2K Pro.

All my old folders and files were there. I named the computer KHEX, and now
the folders of users from Win2K were named as they were (username) and
folders of users created by WinXP were named username.KHEX

I can access all my old files that were on main partition, but the logical
drive keeps saying "Access is denied".

I tried logging on as Administrator (NOTE: after first Administrator logon,
home folder was now named Administrator.KHEX, and the old Administrator home
folder was still there and still named Administrator).

Even when I logged on as Administrator access to my logical drive was still
denied.

Is there a way to recover my files from that logical drive (partition)?

thank you in advance
