Re: Sophos Auto Update Removal

What Operating System are you using? Have you tried uninstalling from Safe Mode? (Reboot the machine and as it boots keep tapping the F8 key until the safe mode menu appears). I'm not sure whether this might help or not: http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/11066.html Either way make sure you have a restore point you can go back to if anything goes wrong. Failing that you might have to contact Sophos technical support for further guidance. I can't even locate the error code in this list: http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/12377.html

Thanks John, but that did not work for me. I restored and tried the
Auto Upadate uninstall first and got the same error.

I'm not absolutely sure but I think the last time I uninstalled Sophos I
uninstalled the Auto Update program 'first' then uninstalled Sophos Anti
Virus. If you have a system restore point try restoring the system to a date
'prior' to when you tried to uninstall Sophos and then try uninstalling the
Auto update first, followed by the anti virus application.
