Hello Bulldog,

If the share permissions are read-only, they can not write any data.
Change share permission to full control and configure the NTFS permissions
for the detaild needs.

The "D" drive is shared out with admin as full control and everyone as
read
The security is set as:
authenticated users everything but full control
Users evrything but full control
Administrators full control
System full control
THE HOME Folder

Everyone read for the share is the same as the "D" sahre permnissions
Security is the same as on the "D" security

The individual folders under home have the specific user with full
control
on the share and nothing else
The security is set
with the individual user and administrators as full control
Hope this helps

Hello Bulldog,

So the users do NOT work with domain user account on theire
workstation, is that correct? How are the share permissions and the
NTFS permissions on the folders?

Best regards

I know the answer is a simple one but I cant get for the life of me,
I just inherited a windows 2003 R2 domain with one server acting as
DC/DNS/DHCP/SQL for about 25 users. They originally just shared out
the "d" drive for putting applications and basically anything else
on they wanted to. They have actually been logging on to local
machine and just using the system with mapped drives like in the old
Novell days. What I am attempting to do for my own sanity is setup
their accounts on the DC including settingup their Home directories
on the H drive etc...The problem I am having is that i am now
getting the drive to map on login like it is supposed to but when I
try to copy or save anything to their specific directory as them i
get "ACCESS Denied"... the only security on the system is the user
has full control as does the administrator and that is it. Help

.
