inetput\wwwroot ntfs permissions question

server 2008
I have not setup a website in a while and as I was going to do so in IIS 7 on server 2008 I wasn't sure if I should make my content directory right under inetpub or if it should be under inetpub\wwwroot? I noticed under the permissions for wwwroot that in addition to inherited perms, 'local service' and 'network service' were assigned full control and IIS_IUSRS is assigned read and execute.
1. 'network service' assigned full control? is that ok? why?
2. where should I put my content directory? I know it can be anywhere as long as the permissions are set correctly but I'm asking based on IIS's default folder structure there, where is the place MS intends you to use as a default?
3. if I made under inetpub directly would permissions need to be adjusted like the wwwroot folder? 'users' have read and execute which I would think would cover all thats needed for a site that does not write to the directory? right?
4. what happened to IUSR_computername? the account which used to be used for anonymous access by default on 2k and 2k3?
yikes, as I write this I realize a lot has probably changed and I really need to update myself... any input on these specifics would be great... I need to at least get a site up and running for demo purposes (asp.net app). I can lock it down afterwards, before its available as a production tool.
