You've got bigger problems than that.
NetDDE is no longer supported and is not available at all in Windows Vista:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365774.aspx
I have never tried it, but I tried to determine how its security works from
the documentation, and I couldn't find anything. Is there any security? That
could explain the disappearance.

Hopefully this is the right newsgroup...
I'm missing something and I'm not sure what. I hope you gurus out there
can help me. I'm having an application that runs on a 2003 server. If I
log in directly to the server it runs fine (I'm a local admin on the box).
If I run the app from a shared folder thru our network it runs fine. If I
log in via RDP as a normal user and run the app I get an error "The Error
message is: Unable to use the specified protocol system: Unable to connect
to DDE Server."
Hmmm...The user is in the power user group. Net DDE service is turned on.
The user has access to execute access to the file (actually at this point
he has everything).
I'm sure this is a privs related thing but for the life of me I can't
figure it out. Any thoughts/suggestions?
