Unable to create a Network Place to a DFS Link

In our Domain (2003) we have a lot of DFS Links. Usually if a user
has access to a folder in the DFS Link, they can create a Network
Place (folder) to it. However, we have a set of DFS Links that
supposedly were set up for IT personnel only and some kind of
"Special" security was set up on them. My regular user account has
access to these folders and I can Map a Drive to those folders just
fine, however I can not create a Network Place to those folders on my
PC. I am prompted to log on to the DFS Root. Even if I try to use my
Domain Admin account to log in, it still does not work. However, when
I am logged onto different SERVERS with the Domain Admin account I can
create the Network Place with no problem. Anyone have any idea how
this DFS Root is locked down? Thanks
