We did an upgrade to 10.1.6.6000 and this started happening after a
little bit of time after the upgrade. Would there be some settings in
the SAV Corp that can be changed to fix this.
I am thinking of turning off the unnecessary features in SAV and then
maybe deleting the NIC and reinstalling it to repair the TCP/IP stack.
I turned off the network scanning and scan for security risks; and it
seems to have stopped thedisconnectedstatus for now on my machine,
lets see after a full day tomorrow. I believe that it is a new
feature and we didn't have this problem with the older versions of
SAV, lets see what happens.
Dang! It didn't help on my machine!
I applied for and was sent a web link for a fix:
KB Article Number(s): 885887
Language: English
Platform: i386
I have applied this fix to 7 test computers in the network that were
experiencing the problem, it takes a couple reboots as an admin, but the
problem seems to have been resolved in this.
Now, I have two terminal servers, one is showing the problem, the other
is not, and the patch won't apply to a Windows 2003 Server, only to XP,
so I'm not sure what to do there.
I have symantec 10.0.x installed on those machines, 10.1.x was a mess,
it really trashed roaming profiles, and we have 200+ users on that
network that all have roaming profiles. Moving back to 10.0.x was not
simple, we had to physically uninstall 10.1.x from every computer as we
Symantec would not push/overwite 10.1.x with 10.0.x from the server.
I used the automated patch download site, had the patch in a couple
hours, try it.
Is that a MS KB Article number or a SAV KN Number? We are
experiencing the same issue.
Didn't work, and as others are seeing this, none of the patches from MS
have worked.
One person has reported that a reg cleaner fixed it on their machines.

We're having the same issue in our School District here in NH. We're
at SAV 10.0.2.2000. The next time we get a complaint, I'm going to
run down to the PC and try a registry cleaner. I'll report back any
results I get from that.
