Jason,
What partition are you speaking of?
If it is the system boot partition (aka C:) then that is
normal and probably should not be fooled with unless
you really know what you are doing.
For any other partition, I would suggest that you define
how you want permissions on the storage, and then set
them from the topmost locations and let that setting then
replace all that is below; then the next uppermost adding
on the difference or otherwise adjusting to what is needed
and again letting it propagate down replacing; etc.

Hi,
In the Properties Pages for some of the files on my Win2003 server, the
"Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object
and all child objects. Include these with entries explicitly defined
here." checkbox is unchecked, while for others it is checked. I'm not sure
how some of them got unchecked, but I want this checkbox checked for all
items at all levels within this particular folder.
Do I have to go through the entire folder structure and look at the
property pages for each file to know which ones I have to check the box
for, or is there a better way? Can I specifiy this somewhere at the parent
folder and let it trickle down to all the children files and folders? Is
there a program that will do this for me?
Thanks in advance,
Jason
