Windows 2003 Kerberos

We are using Windows 2003 AD kerberos authentication for a Tomcat based
program. Our logon names start with a upper case character. Because kerberos
is case sensitive when they login they need to type the name with the
uppercase first character. We tried changing the login name in AD with no
success. Any ideas?
