Re: Access denied for a particular file - nothing helps

How deep is your file path?? We have had similar problems where people would
save documents, but not take into account the 256 character limitation, which
applies to both the file path, and then the name of the document.

Example: Let's say they stored a document 10 folders deep. Take that full
path name, plus the name of the document. If over the character limit, the
file will appear as Access Denied to everyone (including administator) EXCEPT
the file owner.

If this is the case, when you look at the properties of the file in
question, (and if I remember correctly) all options to make changes will be
greyed out, even if the access lists shows that you have full access to make
changes.

Easy way to fix is to create a share the folder that contains the file.
Give yourself full permissions on the share. See if you can now access the
file. FYI, you will probably need to take ownership of the file, before you
can make changes.

Not sure if this is the problem you are experiencing, but give it a try and
let me know.

have no access to that file. Actually while copying the drive i found a
few other files with the same problem... I need those but have no idea

and as you can see it's not a system/reserved name. And yes, i did
reboot; also i ran Unlocker to see if for any reason this file is locked
by any process and it's not.

Was able to delete from cmd, but it doesn't solve the problem though: i
have couple more files like that and those I need to use, so i can't
delete them... any suggestions?
maybe the virus scanner is involved?

especially seeing netcat\nc.exe

You could also check, if you see something with Process Explorer.
