I'm planning to remove our enterprise root CA. It's the only CA we
have and I've covered every concern except EFS. I need to know if
users' encrypted files will be accessible after removing the CA and I
can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Alternately, if I were to
disable EFS through a GPO, would encrypted files still be accessible?
The end result I'm looking to acheive is removal of the CA without
loss of data due to EFS breaking. EFS will remain disabled after the
CA is removed, but may be enabled in future once it has been planned
properly, which wasn't done when this network was originally
installed.
