Re: How to let user group member to share files and folders

They need to be local administrators or power users in order to share
folders. A user can do a lot of mayhem if in either of those groups. There
is no way to allow regular users to create shares. If XP Pro is being used
it is easy enough for a network admin to create a share when one needs to be
done via Remote Desktop on the user's computer or I believe via Computer
Management - connect to another computer and then going to Shared
Folders/shares where you can then create new shares. Another possibility is
to create shares on a server for the users if their is a need for them to
copy files to in order to share with other users which probably would work
better for backups also.

Dear all,

I set all of our users as the members of local user group. My question is
how can I let them have the permission to share the files and folders on
their laptop/desktop. I don't want them have more permission than the user
group has.

Thanks in advance.
