Thanks,
I've checked the event log on the CA though and there is nothing in
there related to a certificate being requested from it .....

Nope, it's okay and a usual practice to have CA not on a DC.
The error message is quite self-explanatory.
I recommend to check the event log on you CA for more information. Check out
KB article 305018 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305018) for logging level
information.

Hi all,
I followed the guide at
<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx%3FFamilyID%3D0f7fa9a2-e113-415b-b2a9-b6a3d64c48f5%26DisplayLang%3Den>
for Setting Up Secure Wireless Access via Radius 802.1x in a Test Lab,
but I deviated
from the guide in that i used the IIS server as the Certification
Authority server rather than the Domain Controller.
When trying to request a certificate from my IAS server, I get an error
message which says :
"There are no trusted Certification Authorities (CAs) available; You do
not have permissions to request certificates from the available CAs; or
The available CAs issue certificates for which you do not have
permissions"
Can anyone advise as to why please?
Is this happening because the CA server isn't a Domain Controller? My
user account by the way is an Enterprise Administrator, so I wouldn't
have thought it's my user account which doesn't have relevant
permissions?
Any advice appreciated.
