Paul & Roger, get off your high horses

Not a high horse, but actually good advice.

I taught at university level for many years - technical material.
I have come to see that while there are many learner styles
and yes, diverse resources, the best way to learn is use of
techniques that involve as many senses as possible and also
that stimulate with trill of successful hunt/discovery.

agreed. I'm not disputing that.

My first post was well intended. My reply to Paul was
to Paul and was not maleficent toward yourself.

ok, but it struck a chord with me. I am just utilizing a resource in what
I believe is a perfectly acceptable way. Further, I believe I'm utilizing
it in *one* of the ways in which it was intended to be used.

I want to clarify: It was Paul's comment, not yours, that struck a chord
with me.

"Sounds like someone's studying for something. Perhaps someone should be
trying these things out for one's self."

It was condescending and 'preachy'. But the real point is that it implied
that I was misusing the newsgroup.... the other details are in my previous
statements and my reply to Paul earlier today. No sense repeating them here
again. To much time spent on this already :-)

Spend your time wisely in your quest, and avoid (even the
use of the word) hate :-) would be my advise to you.

That is very good advice. Thank you.
