Re: Hiding Folders not working

Forgive the newbie server question but I've enabled ABE on all shares (2003
r2) but a dialin Win2k machince can still see all resources.
Is it necessary to use the cacls command (which appears to be file-by-file)
and/or use DFS on the server?
Basically I'm trying to hide all resources including printers from
dialin/remotes and allow them access to only a specific folder...
Thoughts
Thanks
Bergy

Take a look at Windows 2003 Access Based Enumeration which will not allow
users to see folders that they do not have read/list permissions to within
a share. You can not hide the share itself however from users using

Hi,
Is there a way to hide folders? Really hide them. Not like the hidden
attribute. I have a shared folder that I want users to be able to browse
but only be able to see the things I want them to see. I haven't found
anything in the advanced security settings that worked. Any thoughts?
