I can't say I can help for sure but would be helpful is to post an event
from the server and workstation and let us know what the security option is
for "lan manager authentication level" is on both that can be found in Local
Security Policy - local policies/security options. When viewing an event you
can copy it to the clipboard by selecting the box under the down
row. --- Steve

Hi All,
We're getting multiple 529 errors in our Windows 2000 and Windows 2003
application servers, coming only from Windows XP machines. The same errors
also occur on the Windows XP machines themselves.
I've checked the machines and they are virus/malware free - and the users
are not actively trying to log into the 2000 or 2003 servers, or each
other.
I've checked online and on the Support.microsoft.com site and I've
verified
that the following are not the cause of the problem:
1. The errors do not come from local accounts - only from the current user
on a seperate machine.
2. None of the XP machines are running "Fast User Switching" nor the
"Welcome Screen". Both are disabled, in fact, since the users are running
Novell Client 4.91.
More facts:
All the XP computers are upgraded to SP2
There is no Windows Domain set up yet - we are planning to Migrate to
2003,
but have not set up a domain controller yet. All Windows XP computers
either
belong to the default Workgroup workgroup, as do the 2000 and 2003
application servers.
Thanks a million for any help!
Mike C.
