Network access quarantine control

This seems a bit of a half hearted implementation by Microsoft at the moment
(their sample scripts are a bit primitive). Are there any third parties
providing comprehensive scripts that check all major virus checking products
for being up to date etc (we want to check that critical updates are in
place, virus checker is ok, a firewall is on)?

Closest rival product appears to be checkpoint but this requires a client
install unless using a browser interface
