We have been using calls to a third-party API for sometime at a customer
site in an older Active Server Page application. Things were running,
smoothly, until they installed Service Pack 1. Now, attempts to instantiate
the object return this message:
Server object error 'ASP 0178 : 80070005'
Server.CreateObject Access Error
filename.asp, line 64
The call to Server.CreateObject failed while checking permissions.
Access is denied to this object.
Unfortunately, we do not have direct access to the server on which this is
hosted. So, hunt and peck troubleshooting isn't an option. Can someone
point me in the right direction on allowing this to execute? Is this as
simple as NTFS permissions? (It's running under Windows Integrated
Authentication.) Or, are there changes to the COM model that need to be
addressed?
Again, please keep in mind that we'll be troubleshooting this blind.
Thanks.
