Good question! I agree to some extent. I think the difference is that
a Trojan is usually a program that masks itself and is installed on a
server/workstations so that external users can get access to that system.
Classic Trojans don't have a "viral" propagation method. A Trojan is much
more useful to a hacker if it is never discovered. So Trojans will attempt
to be as quite as possible on the system and not propagate themselves as
that may alert someone that its there.
Worms, on the other hand, focus on propagations in any means possible
and can destroy data along the way.
Just my take on it as a professional hacker :)
