You did not mention anything about running Active Directory.
Is this machine a DC of a domain ? If not, just set that particular service
to manual or disabled as it is part of support for Active Directory.

Hello
Windows 2003 SP1 with Terminal,POP3, Application Servers configured on a
Dual P4 3.2 Xeon
This is my first array into servers and I am still at the stage where I am
not yet 100%clear with the server service.
I would like to know the possible answers and fixes on the 2 errors listed
below that is shown in my event viewer. The Help and Central is not giving
me (probably because I am lame) an answer and there is no KB associated
there with it as with some in the Event Viewer
Both have to do with the Intersite Messaging Service. Probably only one
needs the fix and the other one will follow suit since both are related.
(1) The Intersite Messaging service failed to start due to the following
error: The Service did not respond to the start or control request in a
timely fashion
(2)The description for Event ID {1812} in Source {NTDS Inter-site
Messaging}cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary
registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. You may be able to use the
/AUXSOURCE=flag to retrieve this description: The following information is
part of the event [],4294967295
