Selden-
AVG Professional (www.grisoft.com) seems to protect servers fine. It's
only $33 or so.
FWIW, there is no reason that many AV programs should not work on
servers. However, most vendors check to see if their client software
is being installed on server software and refuse to continue, mostly
to get you to buy more expensive software.
Having said that, however, server AV software is often optimized to
use resources more benignly than client AV software. However, in your
situation this shouldn't be a consideration.
I use AVG Pro on my Windows 2003 development server and it is doing
fine.
For a list of known working AV programs and firewalls for Win2003, see
