Look in the system and application logs in Event Viewer to see if any
pertinent errors or warnings have been recorded that may provide a clue and
run the support tool netdiag on it to see if there are any
errors/warnings/failed tests that may show up that may indicate what the
problem is. Support tools are on the install disk in the support/tools
folder where you can run the setup there to install them as a set.

Also look in the security log to see if any failed account logon/logon
events have been recorded the coincide by time with your attempts to map the
drive. Often these failed logon Event ID's will have error codes that can
tell the reason for the failed logon. On a domain controller you want to
have account logon events enabled for success and failure and logon events
enabled for at least failure in Domain Controller Security Policy. Verify
that you are indeed logging on as an administrator by checking the
membership of the administrators and domain admins group as the case may be.
The domain admins group should be a member of the admins group on the domain
controller. Windows XP Pro computers can use "stored credentials" that may
cause failed logons if you have changed your password but the stored
credentials are using the old password. --- Steve
