Hi everyone,
I know this is a bit of a Linux oriented post but I thought perhaps there
was something on the Windows side of things that was preventing this from
working.
I have recently installed Suse Linux 9.1 on my new notebook. I would like
to be able to login against my Windows 2000 domain. I have installed Samba
and I was able to join my Linux box to my domain. I am able to share
folders on the Linux box and can browse those folders from my Windows
machines. When I am browsing from the Windows machine the Linux box does
not prompt me for passwords. It either lets me into a share or says "Access
denied" so apparently I am authenticated and the Linux box knows who I am.
When I logout KDM (Linux login manager) displays a list of users from my
active directory. If I select one of these users and type the *wrong*
password I get a "login failed" message. This seems to confirm to me that
the password is in fact being checked against the domain controller.
If I enter the correct password however I get "Xsession: login for
DOMAIN\User is disabled".
Thanks for any ideas,
Ken.
