Thanks for the reply Jeff....
I THINK that ISA is out of the question given my circumstances. We are a
portion of a large University network and isolating just our portion is
impossible. It pretty much rules out a "hardware" solution which, if I am
understanding correctly, ISA is tantamount to (ISA is installed on a 2 NIC
machine through which all traffic is routed). Therefore I am relegated to
trying to protect the endpoints individually.
Large corporate (centrally managed) solutions are somewhat out of the
question also because of expense and their typical requirement of a SQL (or
MSDE) server. My boss does not want that added complexity and expense
either.
I really am just looking for someone that might have had some personal
experience with a simple solution (like Zone Alarm) that actually works on
the server OS'.
