Hi all,
I can't stay logged into my server. When I log in it loads my settings and
then immediatly logs me out. Has anyone seen this behaviour before? Is there
an known problem and resolution that someone can share with me?
background:
========
I had two hard drives (Disk 0 and Disk1) in a small server each with three
partitions, all partitions had a mirror on the other disk: Dynamic disks and
mirror sets; not HW based.
In trouble shooting a related network issue, our network consultant
suggested we change the server setup a lot. I broke the mirror set thinking
I'd be able to come back to a working setup if needed. The system assigned
Disk 1 partitions the letters I: J: and K:. I restarted, powered-off and
removed the second HDD. Leaving a working C: E: and F:.
We screwed around with the server until we fixed the problem (resolution
found outside the server, had NOTHING to do with the server setup), so I
tried to go back to my 'good' disk.
I re-installed the HDD. Booted off of it (I:) and logged in; NO PROBLEM,
erased the partitions on Disk 0 (STILL C: E: and F:) and had to reboot after
removing C: now I can't log in.
PLEH!
