DC Event Viewer Access Denied

W2K AD network - when I try to check the logs in the event viewer -
"Unable to complete the operstion on "system".
Access is denied."
Can anyone explain why I would get this message

I get the same message on the Application log.
This only happens on the DCs. All member server no problem.
