Hi,

I've written a windows service that uses the BDE and a paradox
database.
It works perfectly on Windows 2000 and NT 4.0 servers, but not on
w2k3.
This is how it works:
It connects to the BDE through a mapped drive (the share points to a
local disk) This is necessary for the BDE because our other
application has to see the data that is entered by the service. For
this purpose the BDE has been placed on the share (S:\BDE).
When the service start it checks the access to the BDE, it finds the
settings in the registry, but it cannot access the files in S:\BDE.
My guess is it has to do with the security on W2k3. The service runs
as localsystem. On msdn I found that there is a NetworkService
account in W2k3 will using this account solve my problem? I cannot
try this because I haven't got a w2k3 server, and I don't want to ask
our customer to try something unless I'm pretty sure that the problem
is fixed.

Thanx,

Jos
