Turn on "Audit object access" setting (Computer Configuration-Windows Settings-Security Settings-Local Policies-Audit Policy) on the server where the files are stored physically, and configure Audit settings on Advanced security tab of file/folder. You can add users/groups into audit list in the same say you add them into DACL.
