I'm having an intermitten problem with Security Bulletin MS03-42 - KB826232.
I created a batch file to install the five most recent security updates for Win2K SP4 (using the /U /Q /Z options). In my testing, the installation works well on about half of the servers, but on the rest, the install hangs after applying MS03-42. I verified that the file, tshoot.ocx, is updated, but the CPU utilization shoots up to 99% and doesn't complete (even after 1 hour). So, the batch file does not continue to the rest of the patches.
I can kill the patch process via Task Manager and then launch the rest of the patches by hand with no problem, but with over 120 servers left to patch, it's going to be slow going unless I can figure out what's happening.
Has anyone else ran across something like this?
Thanks for your help,
Scott
