Hi!
I have a local network (private ip's 192.168.200.x) and an us robotics
router with a cable modem (static ip). My network users go over that router
into the internet.
In that local network I have a windows 2003 member server (with only one
network card - also IP 192.168.200.x). Here I want to install windows 2003
vpn
server.
On the notebook client I want to install windows xp vpn client and connect
over internet to my windows 2003 vpn server.
When I install the windows 2003 vpn server software I could not finish
because the setup needs two network cards - one connected with the internet!
Therefore I installed with the user defined option a vpn access.
In the properties of my windows 2003 vpn server in the routing and ras
window I don't know if these entries are corect for my environment.
custom:
this computer activate as:
Router --> yes only lan router --> no lan and calling roting --> yes
Ras server --> yes
security, ip,ppp, protocol
which settings on my windows 2003 vpn server need I for my environment?
Is the following configuration in my router menu okay?
Set my windows 2000 servers IP as virtual server with port 1723 on my
hardware router configuration menu
or
can also set that local windows 2003 vpn server as ip adress of dmz host on
my us robotics router configuration
(US Robotics Modell 8022 - the following router description:
automatic passthrough of encrypted data through NAT, PPTP packets are
allowed to pass through)
Thanks
