Re: Synching local PC account with workgroup server account

In case anyone is interested, I found my solution. For the application I am
working with, it requires a drive mapping to a share on the standalone
server. If you hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and click on the "Change Password" button,
you will see a list of resources from which you can select. You can either
highlight all of them or select some of them (if there are several). This
will allow you to either change the password for some or all of the server,
domain, or peer workstation resources you may be connected to.

Thanks for the feedback. Hope this helps anyone else who may have run into
this scenario.

This is just a short term solution I am looking for. The plan is to bring

To make a long story short, there are some things that get broken due to
domain policies that are pushed down to the servers as they are added to
the
domain. Until I can finish troubleshooting those things, the workgroup
configuration is what I have to deal with.

Google password sync.

Does anyone know of anyway to automate synchronizing the password of a

That is one reason to move to a domain from a workgroup, the
inconvenience
of having to deal with passwords in multiple places.

I want to give my users the ability to change their password for their
user
account on a standalone Windows 2000 server that they need access to
for
one
of their applications.
