How to get NTLMv2 token from IE browser?

Hello,
Our application is using NTLMv2 authentication mechanism for Single
Sign-on.
It is a web based application and the application server gets NTLMv2
token from client IE browser.
But by default, IE browser sends NTLMv1 token since NTLMv1 is
configured in Windows Local Security Policy.
Is it possible for server side code to force client browser to send
NTLMv2 token instead of NTLMv1?
Application server sends NTLM Type2 message to client browser, is
there a way to specify in Type2 message that server needs NTLMv2 form
client browser?
I know that there is a way to achieve this by modifying registry of
client system, but we don't want to do this since we cannot expect all
users to modify their system registry.
Thanks
MADHUKAR
