Try posting in an XP newsgroup such as the one for home security. This is a
Windows 2000 newsgroup. The link below may be of help.

I am having problems accessing some web pages, and during investigating the
cause found that i cannot open Windows Firewall. I get the message "Due to
unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings".
I am running XP SP2 Home Edition with IE6, and have Norton AntiVirus,
Spybot
and Ad-Aware loaded. Cannot find anything in these programmes that 'lock'
Firewall access, and have used these programmes, and others such as
Hijackthis, to verfiy i do not have any viruses on the PC.
Have tried booting in Safe mode, but got same results.
Any ideas about this?
