Temp files come and go. If you have only 4 or 5 meg you
must not be doing much with the system in way of browsing.
I am not sure about the sluggishness and/or hang you mention,
but 65 processes for a fresh boot is way too many for a base
install of say XP (you did not state the OS involved).
Try getting autoruns from www.sysinternals.com or a similar
tool and see what all is configured to autostart on boot and/or
on login and make sure you really do want everything loading.
You may have one anti-malware wrestling with another if you
have multiples running in the background. If you are sure the
system is clean, try minimizing what is running and then with
a system working as it should you could try adding back in
what you really want and feel you need.
