I bought a couple of Dell Inspiron 7000 laptops from a company that
went out of biz. Running 2000 Pro. I am locked out of accessing
Windows since I don’t have the password.
I get to the "Welcome to Windows" screen. Press Crtl -ALt - Delete.
I’m prompted for a username and password to "Log onto Windows."
Under the "Options" drop down, I am given three choices to: "Log on
to:" The first is the name of the defunct company, the second is
"Company - Deploy (this computer" and the third "GOC-Domain."
I’ve tried using Administrator for the user name for each of the
options to log onto and I’m getting the following message:
"The system could not log you on. Maker sure your user name and
domain are correct, then type your password again. Letters in
password must be typed using the correct case. Make sure caps lock is
not accidentally on."
Any way to get around this? Otherwise, I got a good deal on two
useless laptops. Any help apprecicated. I AM NOT A TECHIE....Thanks
