If more than one domain shows in the logon box for the user this could be an
indication that the domain trusts other domains as would be the case for all
domains in an Active Directory forests or if external trusts have been
configured. You can use the support tool gpresult and look under computer
settings to see what domain the computer is a member of. If the wrong
domain name is showing in system properties/computer name on the computer
then the computer was not successfully joined to the new domain. Possible
reasons are that you do not have the computer pointing to a domain
controllers only in the domain you want to join when you are trying to join
it or you are not specifying a domain account in the domain you want to join
that has the right to join computers to the domain. There are command line
tools such as netdom that can be used to join a computer to a domain
    so. --- Steve
