IAS does not authenticate other domains

We currently have IAS on a Domain Controller in one domain which is
authenticating VPN users, from our VPN device.

We would like to have the same Domain Controller authenticating users on the
same VPN device, but from a different domain (child domain).

Is this possible? How?
