You either have an application that clears those entries as many internet
cleanup/protection type programs will [ CCleanler, ClearCache, etc] or
Group Policy is configured to do such. You can use gpedit.msc to view local
Group Policy and go to user configuration/administrative templates/start
menu and task bar and look at settings that refer to "history". TweakUI may
also be used to control this behavior though if you have more than one
program trying to manage that setting results will be unpredictable. ---
