Note that that will help with spyware / adware, but not with spam.
Spam and spyware / adware are two unrelated problems. I would set up a free
MS SUS server or configure automatic updates in Windows or get a patch
management solution, and also determine whether my AV software also detects
spyware and adware [McAfee 8 does, some others don't] before I spend money
on an anti-spyware solution. It's generally a waste of money to buy an
additional solution for one specific problem before you've done all the easy
and more important stuff first, like patching.
