A windows 2000 professional pc is used to access internet on a PPPOE
connection. The charges are based on the volume of data transfer. It is found
that large volume of data transfer take place even if the PC is left idle.
This was happening for Windows XP also, but stopped when service pack 2 was
installed. But even after installing service pack4 for win2000 the problem
remains. Antivirus check by Norton didnot find any virus.
