I have found the problem. I think!!! One of the servers that the various
jobs have to communicate with has had a great deal of difficulty and has
been down, off and on, for the last three weeks. (mostly down). The job
streams do not successuflly complete, and so do not log off. I have set all
of them to stop running after a reasonable amount of time, but I don't think
that logs them off. Then when the next job attempts to log on it can't.
This remote server has been up steadly for two days, and my jobs are back to
running on time.
