Deleting files just removes references to the file in the File Allocation Table and
the whole file including name and date is still intact until overwritten by new data
which may or may not happen quickly if ever. There are file wipe programs that claim
to wipe all data and scramble filenames with various degrees of effectiveness
including to DOD standards. Download File Scavenger and run in advanced recovery mode
to see all it finds. East Tec Eraser is a program that will scramble filenames and
scrub old data within existing files in addition to scrubbing old files. --- Steve
