?Difference between LocalSystem and administrator accounts?

Hello,
I have a "home-made" process that runs successfully if I run it as
administrator and fails (so to speak) if I run it as LocalSystem.
Could some one please explain the difference in security credentials
(settings) between the accounts?
The idea is to "emulate" administrator account for LocalSystem.
