If you have another computer on the network, try to access Event Viewer remotely to
see what is showing up in the logs that may give a clue. Of course try booting into
Last Known Good Configuration if that has not been tried yet. Possible causes may be
a virus infection, corrupt profile for that account, corruption of operating system
files, needed services not starting. or insufficient permission to the user profile
or \winnt folder [which could be fixed remotely] . If you can not find a specific
cause, I would try first a repair installation and if that fails an in place upgrade
installation of the operating system which would require that the service pack first
be reinstalled and then all critical updates. If you do find specific problems, you
could try to logon with Recovery Console to replace a file or start a service. ---
